Welcome to Chaparral Elementary

UPDATED May 10, 2021
We love our Firebirds

Dear families
I hope all our mamas, grandma's and Daddy's juggling both roles had a great weekend!  A very special Happy Mother's day to our teachers that have their own children.
Our 3rd-6th graders will be taking the iMSSA this week.  Please help us by ensuring that your child goes to bed early, eats a healthy breakfast and comes to school/logs on to class on time.  We would be so grateful if you would encourage your child to do their very best by taking their time, reading questions carefully and by completing the entire assessment.
We do have school on Monday, May 10th.  The district art calendar lists this as summer break, but this is incorrect.  As we approach the end of the school year, please check PowerSchool to ensure that your child has submitted ALL assignments.
Thank you for supporting your kiddos and our staff,
Mrs. Maestas
  • Final distribution for the year will be 5/19 from 2:00-3:00.  We encourage all remote families to stop by the school!
  • An announcement about summer reading is coming soon!
  • Please bring all library books and recorders to the school.
  • We will have a virtual art show soon.  Watch for more information!
  • See attached flyer about summer opportunities for students.
  • Imagine Learning is available over the summer!
  • Last day of school:  May 26th 11am dismissal
  • For our in person families:  If your child has any covid symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle/body aches, headache, loss of smell/taste, sore throat, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea), they must stay home.  In order to return to in person school, they must either have a negative covid test and be symptom free for 24 hours or stay home for 10 days and be symptom free for 24 hours.  Please be sure to call into the office and let us know if your child is experiencing any symptoms.
  • I also want to remind families that if your child has been sent home due to not feeling well, they are still expected to log into their class remotely.
Estimadas familias
Sra. Maestas
