Our Student Council officers have been elected.  They are: President-Sarina Sandoval, Vice President- Luis Bustos, Treasurer-Matthew Holmes, and Secretary-Harmony Alas.  All students who gave speeches did an amazing job and the campaign posters were excellent!

Mandatory Parent-Teacher Conferences for all students at Chaparral will take place Feb. 16 and 17.  Classroom teachers are sending classroom conference schedules if this has not already been done.

Family Events:

We have two very exciting and special events planned for families at Chaparral. One is a Literacy Night with a family dinner on the evening of Feb. 24, 2017.

Another event is the new Spring Carnival and Silent Auction planned for April 22.

The PTA will need volunteers to assist, donations, and plenty of help for both events.  If you are able to assist in any way, please give your name, phone number, and email address to the Office and it will be passed along to the PTA to make both these events a wonderful experience for families and children!

PARCC Information for Families:

Mrs. Korce and Ms. Gustafson were available for Open Lab time for families on last Wednesday to share information regarding the PARCC Assessment to be given in April.  Ms. Gustafson has agreed to be available with Mrs. Korce to continue the Open Lab for parents and students.  Times and dates for meetings are:   6:00 pm every Wednesday, (Feb.  8, 15, and 22).  Please bring your children in order to have a login on a lab computer.  This has proven to be very successful in supporting students and helping create a positive mental attitude when students take assessments.
