Next Family Event:

We plan to have a Spring Carnival on April 22 at Chaparral.  We will need many volunteers to run games as well as donations from the community for silent Auction and the creation of Gift Baskets. Also needed are things like a Bouncy House, a Dunk Tank, a face-painter, a balloon-animal maker, and more. See the full list underWhat’s Newor “Upcoming Events”.

PARCC Information for Families:

The PARCC assessment will be conducted beginning April 10 through April 21.  This includes administering the assessment and make-up assessments.  The students will need to get plenty of sleep that week and eat nutritious food.   We would sincerely appreciate having students arrive on time as the assessments for each grade could begin as early as 8:15.  We will adjust schedules so our students will continue to have their Specials classes. Any other testing tip information will be sent home after Spring Break.

VolleyBall Games:  All games at GCCC on 3/18

8 and Under-no game,  9-10 with Coach Jackie at 1:00, 9-10 with Coach Matt 3:00,

11-12  with Coach Genevieve at 4:00

Attendance:  Last week Chaparral attendance was 93.8% and Amy Biehl was 95.6% (You will see me in a green shirt this Friday-good thing it is St. Patrick’s Day!!) Our Goal is 97%.

PBIS : (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports)  We are creating an all-school system to support and encourage positive behaviors throughout the school.  This involves training of the staff, planning lessons for common areas of the school (playground, cafeteria, etc.) and input from parents. If you would like to assist, please contact Mrs. Korce. Our goal is to create a supportive climate for all members of the Chaparral Community by positively communicating behavior expectations.

Spring Break: Spring Break is next week from March 20-24. Students return to class on March 27.

Registration: This week is registration week.  We need to register students at Chaparral that are going to grade 7 , new Kindergarten students and any students new to Chaparral.  Please pass the word!

K-3 Plus: Is now accepting applications/reservations for our upcoming summer program. Please see the Office for details.
