New Staff

We welcome a new staff member to our Chaparral Community. Ms. Kimberly Rhodes has joined us to teach Grade 3.  We will also have a new Social Worker, Jane.

Break Through

On the evening of January 17, Chaparral will have a Break Through meeting in the Library at 5:30 PM.  This is a program for grade 6 students and a great opportunity for them.  For more information, please contact Ms. Kym Ortiz, our Librarian.

PARCC Assessment Information for Families

We are able to host information meetings in the computer Lab regarding the upcoming PARCC assessment.  Mrs. Korce will open the lab on Wednesday Evenings beginning Jan. 25 at 6:00 for parents and students of grades 3-6 to come to the lab to hear information and to do practice tests together. Dates will be Jan. 25,  Feb. 1, 8, 15, and 22.

Attendance Competition

We beat Amy Biehl last week in the attendance competition, and the principal (Ms. Ocampo-Moore) wore Chaparral’s t-shirt on Monday, Jan. 9, due to the snow day on Friday.  (Picture below).  Currently, our attendance is 90.2 %  and Amy Biehl is  90.8%.  Let’s keep beating Amy Biehl!
